Take 30 Episode #22

Combating Elder Abuse. Helping Our Loved Ones Live With Dignity

The financial exploitation of the elderly unfortunately isn’t new, but during economic downturns and in the face of isolation — as many face right now during the pandemic — the elderly become bigger targets for scams. During Older Americans Month in May, Attorney General Karl Racine will host a conversation about how to help protect the older Americans from financial abuse and scams, and discuss how children and grandchildren can help protect and support their older relatives so their loved ones live their golden years with dignity and security. Deborah M. Royster (Office for Older Americans at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and Laura Newland (Department of Aging and Community Living) will join AG Racine for this important discussion and answer questions.
