Isolated and vulnerable, more than 3 million older Americans are victims of financial abuse every single year.
Today, a new tool is added to the arsenal to protect New Hampshire’s vulnerable populations by raising awareness of financial exploitation in the Granite State: StayConnectedNH.org.
This website, an initiative of the New Hampshire Financial Abuse Specialty Team (FAST)* to keep NH protected by staying connected to trusted resources, is sponsored by New Hampshire Credit Unions, as part of the Better Values – Better Banking awareness campaign.
New Hampshire Credit Unions and Better Values – Better Banking are promoting this important educational resource throughout the Granite State on television and radio, as well as including the initiative in social media outreach.
New Hampshire Credit Unions are encouraged to help spread the word about StayConnectedNH and promote this valuable website in their communities on their websites and social media. By arming our seniors and their caretakers in the fight against financial exploitation, you can help to protect them.
*FAST is a multi-disciplinary group of professionals including the New Hampshire Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services, the U.S. and New Hampshire Departments of Justice, the Alzheimer’s Association, and New Hampshire Legal Assistance. Their mission is to increase public awareness of financial exploitation with the goal of mitigating risk of exploitation and protecting our state’s vulnerable populations.
